Housing Grébovka

Idea projektu

Concept of the housing project is “Views for all”. The structure strives to preserve and develop viewpoints for current inhabitants and pedestrians as well as it intends to create homes with exclusive views for future residents of the building.

Popis projektu

The housing project is located in the centre of Prague at a transition point where the traditional block pattern changes into a looser urban structure. The plot is surrounded by two streets and an unfinished row of houses from three sides. A prominent neighbour is the city park Grébovka. The most specific aspect of the site is a steep slope with a height difference of four stories as well as the beautiful view over Prague’s cityscape from the upper perimeter. The mass of the house is divided into three parts to preserve existing view axes. The shape of these three parts is formed to allow views to the park from the majority of apartments. The middle part of the building has a flat roof with a garden that creates an entrance as well as semi-public space. This area becomes the new summit of the small neighbouring park. The building offers a variety of single room up to five room apartments. Bigger apartments are located in the taller part of the building, smaller flats in the lower building together with commonly used facilities. The middle part of the house contains apartments with a split level.

Technické informace

The building is designed as a concrete monolthic wall system. The rythm is based on the parking lots in the basement. The plaster façade is designed in three different colours and complemented with pine wood window frames. Pitched roofs are designed in copper.
