Adaptive reuse of production hall in the area of former paper mills

Idea projektu

CZ / Hlavní myšlenkou projektu je zachování industriálního objektu a jeho opětovné využití za pomocí vložení nové funkce. Vzhledem k tomu, že se jedná o výrobní halu velkých rozměrů, bylo potřeba vybrat takové využití, které by bylo vhodné do tohoto typu stavby. Provozy sportovní haly a kulturního centra jsem vyhodnotil jako vhodné využití a to i z pohledu nabídky služeb v kontextu s očekávaným rozvojem celého území. Cílem tohoto projektu je prověření možností adaptace průmyslové haly na nové nevýrobní funkce. EN / The main idea of the project is to preserve the industrial building and reuse it by inserting a new function. Due to the fact that it is a production hall of larhe dimensions, it was necessary to choose a function, that would be suitable for this type of building. I evaluated the operation of the sports hall and cultural center as a suitable use, even from the point of view of the offer of services in the context of the expected development of the entire complex. The goal of this project is to examine the possibilities of adapting the industrial hall to new non-production functions.

Popis projektu

CZ / Předmětem tohoto projektu je návrh konverze výrobní haly v areálu bývalých papíren ve Vraném nad Vltavou. Areál se nachází v severní části obce, na pravém břehu Vltavy. Dnes je komplex výrobních hal a menších administrativních objektů veřejně nepřístupný, téměř nevyužívaný a zašlý. Zabírá významnou část břehu Vltavy a brání tak jejímu využívání a zapojení do života místních obyvatel. V rámci urbanistické koncepce došlo k návrhu nového urbanistického souboru, který řeší zmíněnou problematiku a nabízí obci možný rozvoj s nádechem industriálního prostředí. Řešený halový objekt byl původně navržen jako jeden velký otevřený prostor s vloženým podlažím v úrovni 2. NP. Při návrhu konverze byl kladen důraz na vhodné využití objemného prostoru. Podstatou této konverze je využití původního masivního železobetonového montovaného skeletu a jeho doplnění o nové konstrukce. Došlo také ke zjemnění původního měřítka tím, že hala byla viditelně rozdělena na tři funkční celky - sportovní halu, kulturní centrum a kryté parkování. Sportovní hala a kulturní centrum, jejichž hlavní prostory zaujímají 2. NP, vyžadují ke svému provozu dostatečně velké funkční zázemí. Zázemí je řešeno formou přístaveb, které doplnily původní kompozici o novou architekturu. Plocha 1. NP původního objektu byla využita k vytvoření krytých parkovacích stání. Provoz sportovní haly není navržen pro pořádání profesionálních sportovních soutěží, ale pro amatérské a rekreační účely. Tomu také odpovídá navržené provozní schéma. Provoz kulturního centra je navržen jako multifunkční prostor, který zohledňuje kulturní potřeby obce Vrané nad Vltavou. Jeho variabilita umožňuje využívat prostory například pro promítání (kinosál), pro menší divadelní představení, pro obecní slavnosti (plesy, taneční zábavy) a také pro výstavní či galerijní účely. Tuto variabilitu umožňuje použití teleskopického mobilního hlediště. EN / The main purpose of this project is a proposal of Adaptive reuse of production hall in the area of former paper mills in Vrane nad Vltavou. The area is located in the northern part of a village, on the right bank of the Vltava river. Today, the complex of production halls and smaller administrative buildings is inaccesible to the public. It is also almost unused. The area occupies a significant part of a river bank which means, that this place is cannot be used by residents and also by visitors. As part of the urbanism proposal I designed a new urban complex, which solves mentioned issue and offers to the village possible development with a touch of industrial surroundings. The hall building was originally designed as a large open space with inserted floor in the level of the second floor. With the proposal of adaptive reuse, it was important to think about the suitable use of large space. The main essence of adaptive reuse is the use of original prefabricated reinforced concrete skeleton and its addition of new structures. As a next step was necessary to soften the original scale of hall building by using visible division into three functional units - sports hall, cultural center and covered parking. Sports hall and cultural center need a large functional facilities for its operation. The buildings of the operating facilities are designed as a new extensions, which complement the original composition with a new architecture. The area of the first floor of the original hall building was used as a covered parking lot. The operation of sports hall isn’t designed for professional sports competitions, but for unprofessional and recreational use. The proposed operating diagram also corresponds to this. The operation of cultural center is designed as a multifunctional space which takes into account the cultural needs of the village – Vrane nad Vltavou. Its variability allows the use of space, for example for projection (cinema hall), for smalle theater performances, for local city celebrations (dance ball), and also for gallery purposes. This variability is made possible using of a telescopic mobile auditorium.

Technické informace

CZ / U objektu původní výrobní haly je využívána stávající nosná železobetonová konstrukce. Jsou zde nově navržené nenosné konstrukce v rámci fasády. Navržené intervence do původního halového objektu jsou navrženy tak, aby podpořily změněnou atmosféru místa, a zároveň zachovaly původní ráz průmyslové haly. Nosné konstrukce nových přístaveb sportovní haly a krytého parkování jsou navrženy ze železobetonu. Konstrukce přístavby v kulturním centru je z ocele. EN / For the building of the original production hall I used an original load bearing reinforced concrete structure. There are newly designed non load bearing structure within the facade. The proposed interventions in the original hall building are designed to support the changed atmosphere of the place, while maintaining the original character of the industrial hall. The load bearing structure of the new extensions of the sports hall and the covered parking are designed from reinforced concrete. The construction of the extension in the cultural center is made of steel.
