HELUZ IZOS is the largest manufacturer of insulating glass and other processed glass for a wide range of applications in exteriors and interiors of buildings. The original company IZOS was founded in 1992, when it started production in Žatec and gradually expanded its activities in newly built plants in Pilsen and Sudoměřice nad Moravou. In 2021, the company became part of the Czech family group HELUZ GROUP, primarily focused on the production of building elements for energy-efficient and passive buildings.
The focus of the IZOS product range is insulating glass meeting the most demanding requirements for modern, energy-efficient and environmentally friendly buildings. In 2022, IZOS presented its offer clearly divided into 4 groups of glass, which differ in their properties and recommended areas of application. For today's new buildings, the IZOS TRIPLE glass range, offering excellent thermal insulation properties, has become almost standard. For energy-efficient new buildings, the IZOS ENERGY+ series offers excellent thermal transmittance Ug values (0.5 - 0.6 W/m2K) and excellent solar factor values (SF = 62%). Designed for windows facing the direction of the sun, these glasses reduce heat leakage from the interior and use solar gains from the exterior. Compared to conventional triple glazing, they can help reduce energy costs by more than 15%. In contrast, glass with a very low solar factor (SF = 36%), labelled IZOS SHADOW, prevents unwanted overheating of the interior and again saves on air conditioning costs. Especially for reconstruction, renovation of windows and glazing of e.g. unoccupied rooms, the double glazing of the IZOS DOUBLE series serves perfectly.
The importance of glazed surfaces and their properties is constantly increasing. Modern lifestyles and their corresponding architectural solutions are increasingly opening up interiors to the outside environment and the proportion of glazed areas in the external walls of buildings is increasing rapidly. This also increases the demands on the properties of insulating glass, which should meet the requirements for acoustic attenuation and safety in addition to energy efficiency. All of these requirements can be combined in specific insulating glass units according to the exact requirements of a particular room, in all 4 IZOS product lines. It is no longer the case that one type of window with one type of glazing is used on an entire building. The type of suitable insulating glass is determined by the orientation of the building in relation to the cardinal points and therefore its ability to use solar energy, the surrounding buildings, noise exposure and many other factors. HELUZ IZOS specialists recommend taking these factors into account at the project stage and are ready to provide expert advice to interested parties.
The IZOS brand range also includes a wide range of processed glass, toughened, bonded, edge-worked, as well as CNC-machined shapes and openings. These glasses are mainly used in interiors as partition walls, staircases, railings, shower screens, etc. They are also used in exteriors as facade elements, balcony fillings or roofing. An exclusive part of the offer is large-format glass with digital printing with high resolution up to 4K.
Although it may not seem like it at first glance, glass is one of the most environmentally friendly materials ever. It is virtually 100% recyclable with no limit on the number of recycling operations. Fully replacing virgin raw materials in the plant with glass shards would reduce energy consumption for melting by 25% and CO2 emissions by 42%. Its increasing use in buildings not only meets the requirements of modern architecture and contemporary lifestyles, but also makes a significant contribution to environmental protection and reducing the exploitation of natural resources.
