EcoCocon is an international company that manufactures an innovative straw-based wall construction system. Their unique structural panels contain 98% raw, renewable materials and have excellent insulation properties. The system holds several certificates including Cradle to Cradle and the German Passivhaus standard.

Founded in 2008, the company came into existence with the idea of creating an accessible way of building real cradle-to-cradle buildings. Buildings that would be made of non-transformed, renewable materials and last for generations before being returned safely back to nature. Buildings made of natural materials that leave a minimal ecological footprint.

EcoCocon’s green solution has earned the company several awards, including Innovation Award by the Passive House Institute and the Sustainable Element Product Award by Building Green DK.

Up till now, about 300 EcoCocon buildings have been built in 25 different countries on 3 continents, sequestering nearly 4,000,000 kg of CO2 combined, and saving even more over the life cycle of the buildings through increased energy efficiency.
