Project idea

Sensory Teens Center with membership in Madinah, Saudi Arabia for girls 13- 18 years. It aims to invest teens' energy, discover and develop their talents by providing an attractive, safe, social, educational, and entertaining environment that prepares them for a better future, helps them extract their energies in the right way, and use technology properly.

The project will close teens to nature to help achieve balance in adolescence psychological changes. The project enables teens to activate their five senses by having scout and dividing activities in the entertaining part according to the five senses. Design is inspired by the biophilic school. It will be a sustainable design to make teens reflect sustainability in their lifestyles later. The grid and space planning is inspired by teens' movement.

Project description

senses. Indoor activities are: Smell sense ( Arrange flowers, Fragrance lab ), Touch sense ( Sand sculpture ), Taste sense ( kitchen and restaurant), Hearing sense ( Theatre), and outdoor activity which is sight sense ( Pole vault )


It also contains scout in the outdoor with a café booth and five senses exhibition for five senses activation. As well as, the education part contains, a Pc lab, Studio drawing, a Photography room, a Handicrafts class, a swing area for relaxation, a reading area, an interactive area, brainstorming area ( thinking pods), lounge and five sense classes.

In addition, The center contains retail to show and sell teens' achievements. The final part is the administration with offices for managers and staff.

Technical information

Achieving sustainability in the interior of the building, the main material for the building is volcanic blocks which are local in the medina. Also, plaster is sustainable. As well as it is used as porcelain in the flooring which is practical material for crowded areas.

There are entering for the technology in the building. So there are smart solutions which are: polyethylene device that converts teens talking voices into music in harmony with nature.
Also outdoor tree structure columns as a shading system that interact with the weather, so they open and close according to the weather with solar panels.
