The palace is where it was the former palace of shah hojele who was the ruler of asosa it located on Ethiopia adiss abeba shegole around rufel church it was built in 20th century in 1890 during this period the biggest private residence in adiss abeba
This project is one of heritage building in Ethiopia He was a person who has made a great contribution to Ethiopian's economy, political and religious value The project idea is emphasizing the power and contribution of shah hojele the palace has been converted into a hotel to promote him and maintain his value.

Project description

The building influenced by indoislamic architecture It has special construction method and Islamic pattern by Using this, we took the spatial part of the palace and emphasized them in an advanced way on the landscape and the building
The function of the building As we enter the hotel, we find a depressed space. This shows us that the contributions made by Sheh Ojele to Ethiopia in the past are saved from various problems.therefore the basement floor is store and restaurant at this floor we keep the existing palace function
The ground level half parts are restaurant and the remaining are adminstration zone of the hotel at this floor we made the interior parts in wall paper it emphasis the previous aesthetical value of the palace
First floor used to be Islamic restaurant it emphasis religious value of shah hojele it promote the contribution of shah hojele for Muslim at this space we create Islamic pattern ceiling and wall paper and pointed arch openings
Second floor used to be the president suite room it represents the existing palace function the remaining floor the new building are guest rooms those rooms represent technological, aesthetical,economic value of shah hojele and their palace by using wood wall panal ,indoislamic character .the last floor is helicopter stock area it represent the power of shah hojele
On the land scape part We emphasized the previous indoislamic pattern of the palace by using the star symbol on the seating areas of the landscape and the water bodies

Technical information

When it comes to the building structure fixing the problems that existed before, adding bridges to connect the new structure , changing the finishing material ,by making conservation and repurposing the function of the building we emphasize the aesthetical value of the existing palace The new structure has 6 floor this have a double pane glass and concrete structure and also we use space truss and spider joist for connect the glass and space truss element for slanted structure we use tilt up construction method it is a cost-effective technique with a shorter completion time and it prevent crack and any structural damage for existing building because its precast method. we place the new building behind the existing palace and also the new building only accessible by the existing palace to creating more focus for existing palace.
