The program seems relevant when combining school, international food restaurants and accommodation. Although the travel industry has not had a good year, we can hope that it continues to be resilient as it showed in previous crises!
To think shady cool areas (with water and vegetation) to attract people into the restaurant with different phenomenological effects appears to be correct too.
In regard to suggesting some improvement probably they may focus on the specific design:
- To show the physical environment and context of the site will help to understand the site and the city in which the project is placed.
- In terms of the spaces shown in the renders: the rooms and terraces seem to be closed in on itself. It would be great to review this to make them more open to the public. Maybe one can see all the process: teaching, kitchens, bars, terraces, open spaces can be seen as a “promenade” that take part in the educational and leisure programme.
- Last but not least, it would be important to think of the graphic presentation as part of the project discourse. Occasionally design programs tend to lead us to generic images. Sometimes this aesthetics works against student graphic control.
In summary, I encourage you to keep your work and the development of these mixturized buildings which are so necessary to improve the diversity of urban areas.
