The project deals with the design of a new prevention centre located on the premises of the Masaryk Cancer Institute in Žlutý hill in Brno. The proposal includes both the cancer prevention centre itself and an inpatient ward for patients undergoing radiation treatment. It is also complemented by administration and leasable space.
The concept works with the idea of creating an interspace - an "inner outdoor space" that complements the interior of buildings and connects them with the outside world. This space can represent both separation from the world and contact with the environment - therefore it is not closed, but rather looks like a street, walks through it and is accessible to all - patients, doctors, residents of new residential units, passers-by. The purpose is to open the center to the public and try to raise awareness of the importance of cancer prevention.

Projekt se zabývá návrhem nového centra prevence umístěného v areálu Masarykova onkologického ústavu na Žlutém kopci v Brně. Návrh obsahuje jak samotné centrum onkologické prevence, tak lůžkové oddělení pro pacienty, u kterých probíhá léčba zářením. Je také doplněn o administrativu a pronajímatelné prostory.
Koncept pracuje s myšlenkou vytvoření meziprostoru – „vnitřního venkovního prostoru“, který doplňuje interiér budov a propojuje je s vnějším světem. Tento prostor může představovat jak oddělenost od světa, tak i kontakt s okolím – proto není uzavřený, ale má podobu spíše ulice, prochází se ním a je přístupný pro všechny – pacienty, lékaře, obyvatele nových obytných celků, kolemjdoucí. Smyslem je otevřít centrum veřejnosti a snažit se tak rozšiřovat povědomí o důležitosti onkologické prevence.

Cancer Prevention Centre Tomešova

The proposal is located on the plot where two buildings of the former blood transfusion station are now located, on the very edge of the Masaryk Cancer Institute, on the slope of the Yellow Hill.

The location of the mass of the proposal is based on the current situation of the two buildings and the intermediate space between them. The southern building, clearly visible from the Old Brno, is dedicated to the prevention centre and is dominant in its location and function. The second building, the northern one, contains additional rental functions and an inpatient ward on the top floor overlooking the city. The two buildings are connected by a central circulation that allows the two buildings to function as a unit. This was to take advantage of the separation of functions, but also to allow them to be linked when needed.

Communication and orientation are the main themes of the project, the emphasis is on the interior design. The orientation in space is solved by colour differentiation of the communal areas and individual waiting rooms.

Centrum onkologické prevence Tomešova

Návrh je umístěn na parcele, kde se nyní nachází dvě budovy bývalé transfuzní stanice, na samém okraji Masarykova onkologického ústavu, ve svahu Žlutého kopce.

Umístění hmot návrhu vychází z nynější situace dvou budov a mezilehlým prostorem mezi nimi. Jižní budova, výrazně viditelná ze Starého Brna, je věnovaná centru prevence, je dominantní svým umístěním i funkcí. Druhá budova, severní, obsahuje doplňkové funkce pronájmu a lůžkové oddělení v nejvyšším patře s výhledem na město. Tyto dvě budovy jsou spojeny centrální komunikací, která umožňuje fungování dvou budov jako celku. Bylo tak možné využít výhod oddělení funkcí, ale zároveň umožnit jejich propojení, když je to potřeba.

Komunikace a orientace jsou hlavními motivy projektu, důraz je kladen na řešení interiéru. Orientace v prostoru je vyřešena barevným odlišením komunkací a jednotlivých čekáren.

The load-bearing structure of the building is designed as a reinforced concrete prefabricated skeleton. The cross-section of the column is 400x400 mm, the span is always 8 meters in one direction - the ceiling is dimensioned for this length - spiroll panels 250 mm thick. In the other direction, the range varies from 3.4 to 8 meters. The die - delta beam with the lost thickness of the die is dimensioned for this span. The use of a delta beam is advantageous in terms of streamlining the construction height due to the need for high ceilings. The construction of the central building is designed as a steel frame construction, the cross-section of the elements is 200x200mm. The frames are welded or connected to the elevator wall. The staircase is designed as a bent beam. The structure is supported by the substructure.

Nosná konstrukce budovy je řešena jako železobetonový prefabrikovaný skelet. Průřez sloupu je 400x400 mm, rozpětí je v jednom směru vždy 8 metrů – na tuto délku je dimenzován strop – panely spiroll tloušťky 250 mm. V druhém směru se rozpětí liší od 3,4 až 8 metrů. Na toto rozpětí je dimenzován průvlak – delta nosník se ztracenou tloušťkou průvlaku. Využití delta nosníku je výhodné z hlediska zefektivnění konstrukční výšky kvůli nutnosti vysokých podhledů. Konstrukce centrálního objektu je řešena jako ocelová rámová konstrukce, průřez prvků je 200x200mm. Rámy jsou svařované, nebo spojené se stěnou výtahu. Schodiště je řešeno jako zalomený nosník. Konstrukce je opřena o spodní stavbu.
