I think that the main idea to create a place surrounded by nature providing peace and an environment for relaxation and spending time with family and friends is spectacular. I would suggest to be more experimental in terms of the material concept and the surrounding environment. I would suggest to look at a study that was conducted during the summer of 2014 for the City of Paris by “Vincent Callebaut Architectures” and “Setec Bâtiment”. They envisaged a green town, functional and eco-friendly, with zero carbon emissions and zero waste!
The scheme offers 8 eco-friendly projects that are coming through in some of the most iconic areas of Paris:
1. In Paris’ historic center: “MOUNTAIN TOWERS”
Rue Rivoli, 1st arrondissement
Solar and hydrodynamic plant towers. The project aims to triple the number apartments on each Parisian island, and to densify and make this type of urban planning more natural.
2. Paris’ little belt: “ANTISMOG TOWERS”
14th arrondissement
Apartment blocks covered with plants and greenery and with an architectural flare, along a 23-km eco-corridor.
3. Central Park in Paris: “PHOTOSYNTHESIS TOWERS”
Tour Montparnasse, 15th arrondissement
A central park spiraling upwards, with green algae bio-facades covering the Montparnasse tower and the building C and the Express Tower.
4. A new field of social innovation: “BAMBOO NEST TOWERS”
Ensemble Massena, 13th arrondissement
This project aims to make the thirteen tower blocks of apartments in Massena (the highest concentration of towers of Paris) more natural.
The thermodynamic towers covered in greenery will have vegetable garden balconies, and the residents will grow their own organic food.
5. Apartments to make bees jealous: “HONEYCOMB TOWERS”
Porte des Lilas, 20th arrondissement
A hive of apartments offering to double the height of buildings using this parasitic architecture. These apartments are eco-friendly and will have vegetable gardens and hanging orchards.
6. The farm in the city: “FARMSCRAPERS TOWERS”:
Porte d’Aubervilliers, 19th arrondissement
This vertical farm will recreate the countryside at the edge of the city.
This part of Paris will reduce transport use and make public and private spaces more natural.
7. Apartments in an urban Mangrove “MANGROVE TOWERS”:
Gare du nord, 10th arrondissement
These branched, light-sensitive towers will be located directly above the platforms of the Gare du Nord. They will be home to offices, hotels and apartments for international and traveling clients.
8. Apartments with zero waste and zero carbon emissions: « BRIDGE TOWERS »:
Pont Aval, 16th arrondissement and Pont Amont, 12th arrondissement.
These bridges covered in amphibian apartments will span the Seine on the Pont Amon and the Pont Aval.
They represent a new kind of urban and social innovation in terms of collective housing.
I think after going through this study you will make your project more experiential, vibrant , innovative and responsive.
Overall its a brilliant effort ! Keep up the good work !
Good Luck and best wishes!!!
