Arta is the former name of the Považská chocolate and confectionery factory, which operated on Kollárova Street in Piešťany in the interwar period. After nationalization, it passed under the national enterprise Figaro, later it was the seat of Tesla and in the 80s the SOÚ factory served the mechanical and electrical engineering, which remained in it until 2011. Since then, the spaces have been empty. Under the banner of the Civic Association Initiative Art, we are trying to make a cultural and creative center. The initial design of the creative center was triggered by weak opportunities in the creative segment and the departure of young people for a different kind of work and culture than the city offers. The aim of the project is to build a place that will combine several functions focused on the development of culture, creative industry, art, sustainability. Places that naturally connect innovative ideas, local creators and civil society, but at the same time create a space for dialogue and appeal to different generations. We want to build on the cultural history of this city and help further develop it.

Arta je bývalý názov Považskej továrne na čokoládu a cukrovinky, ktorá fungovala na Kollárovej ulici v Piešťanoch v medzivojnovom období. Po znárodnení prešla pod národný podnik Figaro, neskôr bola sídlom Tesly a v 80. rokoch slúžila továreň SOÚ strojárskemu a elektrotechnickému, ktoré v nej zotrvávalo až do roku 2011. Odvtedy boli priestory prázdne. Pod hlavičkou Občianskeho združenia Iniciatíva Arta sa z nej snažíme vytvoriť kultúrno-kreatívne centrum. Spúšťačom pre prvotný návrh kreatívneho centra boli slabé príležitosti v kreatívnom segmente a odchádzanie mladých ľudí za iným druhom práce a kultúry, než aké mesto ponúka. Zámerom projektu je vybudovanie miesta, ktoré bude združovať niekoľko funkcií zameraných na rozvoj kultúry, kreatívneho priemyslu, umenia, udržateľnosti. Miesta, ktoré prirodzene prepája inovatívne myšlienky, lokálnych tvorcov a občiansku spoločnosť, no zároveň vytvára priestor pre dialóg a osloví rôzne generácie. Chceme nadviazať na kultúrnu históriu tohto mesta a pomáhať ju ďalej rozvíjať.

An integral part of Arta is also the planned event space, which should be used for various social and charitable events, concerts, lectures, fashion shows, markets. The space is located on the ground floor and there used to be workshops. The assignment included a request to create a bar connected to the warehouse and the social space, which should be multifunctional and variable. The approach we wanted to take in creating the event space was based on minimizing demolition work and especially waste, or the reuse of some elements either in the event space itself or in another space in Arta.

Neoddeliteľnou súčasťou Arty je aj plánovaný event space, ktorý by mal slúžiť pre rôzne spoločenské a charitatívne akcie, koncerty, prednášky, módne prehliadky, trhy. Priestor sa nachádza na prízemí a kedysi sa tu nachádzali dielne. Zadanie obsahovalo požiadavku na vytvorenie baru napojeného na sklad a samotný spoločenský priestor, ktorý by mal byť multifunkčný a variabilný. Prístup, akým sme sa chceli pri tvorbe event space uberať, bol založený na zminimalizovaní búracích prác a hlavne odpadu, prípadne spätnom využití niektorých prvkov buď v samotnom event space alebo v inom priestore Arty.

The material solution uses available and affordable materials, characterized by exposed concrete, plaster, trapezoidal sheet metal and wood.

Materiálové riešenie využíva dostupné a finančne dostupné materiály, charakteristickými sú pohľadový betón, omietka, trapézový plech a drevo.
