Dear Reinhard,
I really appreciated your project, its presentation and the description that you make of it.
I would like to discuss with you the formal side, the volume and certain details that seem to me to sin for lack of treatment and completion.
Thus, the traditional roof on which you base the genesis of your project remains a very specific and exclusive element, the relevance of which is only understood after reading the description. It would perhaps be interesting to think about a more encompassing approach for the whole project, this is what will constitute, in your case, the challenge.
It is very difficult in the architectural composition to proceed by a simple addition of elements which certainly have identities but which one thinks to constitute a coherent whole.
I recommend that you take an interest in Gestalt theory to understand that a whole is more than the addition of the parts.
In another aspect, I recommend that you treat the openings in the facade with more care. It seems to me that the horizontal cutting creates (for lack of care taken in the treatment of the cantilevered) a heaviness in the reading of the whole. This is exacerbated by the absence of thickness suggested by the frames placed flush with the external surface.
To overcome this, it is strongly recommended to draw heavily on the work and thought of Louis Kahn. He explains better than anyone the importance of the facade, the work on the thickness and the "plaid" placed on the structure to which we can attribute a form of expression.
Of course, I have only touched on a few aspects of your project here, it is rich and it gives rise to a lot of thought. He deserves encouragement. I wish you a happy progression in your studies.
First of all, thank you to Mr Nabil ROUBAI CHORFI as one of the jury for your comments and suggestions. I used the traditional roof because the building is the mayor's building from one of the regions in Indonesia, which i want to add to the traditional ornaments typical of the area, namely the cultural ornaments of the province of Lampung. One of them is the application of the roof of a traditional traditional house that i added to my project and the traditional fabric pattern on the secondary skin facade. Thus, the Lampung mayor's office can represent the area, namely the province of Lampung. Maybe that's all I can respond to, if it's still not enough, maybe you can ask again, thank you
