Hello Haaris, I am Jani from Albania, a former Inspireli Awards winner and Juror. I have been given the task of giving feedback on your project for further improvement.
First I would like to congratulate you on your work and desire to contribute on sensitive issues of society which in many cases are neglected. Such topics are very interpretable in different ways and it is difficult to give a more concrete opinion about the topic. I had to study a little on this topic to have a better understanding about it.
Regarding the topic, it is not only interesting but also of high importance to be studied and treated even as an experimental case.
People with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) receive stimuli from the surrounding environment which evoke memories or trauma in their psychology, but often these traumas are unrelated to the built environment and separate them from social life. These people need more emotional support, social activities to create social relationships where these people feel valued and their self-confidence grows.
I appreciate your idea of creating a center where these people are offered different treatments for different situations or symptoms that they may have. Also to be a more controlled and harmonious environment. The drawings were very small and illegible in order to better understand the functional organization of the buildings and for this I can not give suggestions except graphically what I would recommend the presentation to be clear and more legible and to have same graphic language , to be more organized, because it is very chaotic and requires concentration to understand the project.
Another suggestion would be about the composition of the objects in the site. Objects look very fragmented and the conceptual scheme of the volumes is no longer legible and no longer easily understood. It would be better if the volumes were more simple, organic and fused with nature. The patients who will be treated in addition to the facilities built to provide the service, also need a connection with nature. It has been proven that nature has a calming effect on human psychology and its elements present in the design of buildings, or landscape would increase the value and effect on the required function.
So in my opinion a more biophilic design approach is needed.
Maybe such elements are implemented in your project and I was not able to understand well this information. Over all, your objectives are clear and seem to be realised in the project.
The comments are general and I hope they will help in advancing your project as well as your further studies, and i am very interested in your progres on this topic, as it has high study interest. And a case study like yours is valuable to spark various debates and encourage the society to react.
I wish you all the best in this humane profession.
