The presented project deals with a significant and interesting idea about designing an archeological museum that honors the resurrection of Lord Jesus to Aliazar in the Village of Bethany.
However, it is stated in the project idea that the museum is divided into two parts of exhibits (static and changing), which in my point of view, that all exhibits should be static and permanent as it displays stories from heavenly books that will never change in the future. In this case, the exhibits should be fixed.
Also, the project proposes to use flexible building materials during the construction process that can be changed by time. I believe this is not the case in this project to move it from one place to another or to reassemble the building parts in another place because it is proposed to design the museum in a religious and a historical area that offers a cultural and spiritual value for its users.
Another point is, it was not mentioned in the concept and zoning of the museum if it is composed of one floor or several floors and its relation with the surrounding site in terms of pedestrians (visitors, employees, ... etc.), vehicles, services, ... etc. and how the culture of the place influenced the design of the museum in terms of building form, building color, building style, local available materials, ... etc.
Finally, I think this type of buildings, particularly museums should apply some environmental treatments concerning natural lighting and natural ventilation and should have a detailed study for the relation between the building and its micro-climate.
Graphically speaking, the project should present conceptual and zoning diagrams as well as the 3D shots need to concentrate on the exterior and interior details of the building.
After all, the project presents a good idea that presents the history of the place to the community.
I wish you good luck and hope my comments will be helpful in your future project development.
Thank you very much for these valuable comments, which will be taken into consideration.
First, on the subject:
The fixed exhibits constituted the largest percentage in the project, however, variable exhibits were provided, as it was mentioned that the site has great religious and cultural importance, and therefore the various disciplines or topics have the right to have a link or an opportunity to exploit this site for display and for continuous community interaction with it .
Second, for the materials used:
The aim of these flexible materials, low in cost and impact, to have a low impact on the site, in order to preserve the importance of the surrounding archaeological buildings and make them the dominant and prominent element in the site.
Third, for the levels:
Three floors were built in the museum area, in line with the ground levels and to take advantage of this important site as much as possible.
Fourth, with regard to lighting:
Natural lighting elements were provided in the museum, and they were probably few and could be reconsidered, in addition to the need in some areas for artificial lighting in the exhibition areas, in order to provide flexibility in the spaces in terms of the user’s feeling in each space and to focus on the exhibits better.
Thanks for paying attention....
