First of all it is an interesting take on choosing a site in revitalizing the old structure and retrofit it rather building (occupying) more land.
You did manage to interweave the old with new in physical and spatial terms through recovering the existing walls and adding more in creating a habitable spaces, and also leaving some old walls as it is with the open living space, bonding intangibly. I would suggest one external staircase would have given more room in spaces like workspace, relaxing areas and terraces.
The sloping roof could have been oriented well as per sun for the efficient use of solar panels. and more openings on every side to watch the birds, in fact the project could have been designed more in terms to encourage birds to come and nest while user can observe/watch more closely. Glass itself is not a favorable material for the birds, so a choice of materiality should have been favorable for the birds too as you are talking about a connection with nature and history.
since the flood is one of the major concern, and somehow this project is not reflecting any solutions to cater/protect it.
I did not fully understand the reason for linking it with Venice's key elements as site is already isolated and elevations and openings are catering the functions of interior spaces.
3D Rendering is fine and presentation can be more mature with the help of analytical diagrams in showing strategies.
also for the final sheet or slide I feel its important to have an impactful picture which should showcase your project.
Without a doubt we all are work in progress.
