The critics that can be defined on the proposed design " The High Rise Mixed Use Office-Adis Ababa- and prepared by Netsanet Tadesse , and Woyniab Bekelcha, was based on the "Approach"of the project, and It is subdivided into four.
1-The first one is the Formal Approach, this approach is based on the comprehension of the building organization , materials, connections of volumes etc… This is very well explained and illustrated in the drawings moreover the sustainable solution is also well covered in the design proposal.
2-The second approach is experimental, based on the project stimulation to our imagination and feel of the spaces proposed. By walking through the drawings and the images proposed, the design shows an interesting solution and impacts positively in the urban fabric of this sector of the city. The angles of the building vis a vis the urban angles form a harmonious combination.
3-The third approach is historical, the contextual impact, and the sense of completeness of the proposed design to its surrounding environment is well achieved. The problematic regarding the 1960s styles of Ethiopian architecture and the new active commercial corridor of the city is very well answered in the design proposal and offers interesting and creative solutions.
4-The final critical approach is the value the proposed design offers to the social and economic benefits, is well achieved.
The technical solutions proposed by the design Structure and MEP are well covered, however the foundation for such a tower need to be reviewed , it is advisable to have a raft foundation as well as a proposal for geothermal in the basements could be complimentary to the sustainable solutions proposed.
As an overall look the design proposal offered interesting solutions to the problematic of the project, the work was very well presented and clear.
