Hi Viktoria,
Good to see your work here…
Let’s get the review started, I hope I get the big picture. From what I’ve read and observes, you try creating a livelier inner court from an existing apartment building complex, is it right?
Then I should start from several things that I couldn’t find good enough from the narrative, such as “problem statement” and “purposes and aims”. It is particularly important for me to know why “dividing the courtyard” and “providing a walking trail” become a solution to this neighborhood’s problems. Are there any specific issues that goes wrong other than the need of interaction between adult and children or providing a better accessibilities to diffable? Such as generation gap issues or connectivity issues or programming issues or life/health qualities issues?
Those issues more likely can describe better as a fundamental parti development of the design. If it does exist, then having a dynamic, winding and oblique walking trails that connect several programs in the complexes are indeed necessary.
Despite of that, I tremendously like the space you created. It is home like, good way finding, good textures and also a good scale. You should also put a foliage or tree planning on your board though. It can really enhance the shading qualities and also give a new ecosystem environments of bird, fish, butterfly, bees or other pets. What was missing is also a pond or water feature. Sounds they create was absolutely irreplaceable and able to give calming environment even better.
One last things, it is also good to create a different type of wood working showed in panel 4 and 5… the one that was cilindrical and square. It shows a great way how wooden material is used as a datum but at the same time the creativity in wood working act as way finding identity to ease elderly identify their positions.
Good job..
Its been a pleasure to discuss your project…
