Dear Cyril Novotný,
The approach and main idea of your addition to Prague’s living fabric is noteworthy as Vltava River is considered a historical and vital aspect of Prague’s Landscapes. I appreciated the usage of the symphonic poem of Vltava by Bedřich Smetana as a sensorial design element to highlight the relationship between water and human interventions.
That being said, I would like to suggest a few things you might reconsider. First, it is important to take into account the dialogue between architectural mass and its landscapes in an attempt to stir away from our addition coming off as intrusive to the city’s landscapes but as a core element of the city’s urban fabric. Second is to rethink the relationship between the spaces of the Hall to improve the quality of human experience especially that the main theme of the hall is portraying the monumentality of Prague. Naturally, the spaces of the hall should reflect an element of sensitivity and specificity. Finally, as we speak of human experience, I would suggest going through soundscapes to sensorially enhance the importance of water in the Philharmonic Hall. Overall, the design is well thought-out and presented clearly.
Good Luck with your future endeavours.
