The Elementary School Zilina design project is an important and obviously a needed one. The relation between the solid and void within the land plot and the relation between the two buildings and their scale is well thought of, and the use of the L-shape design is appropriate for the school.
- The main question is how does this design affect the quality of education? Is there any thinking about new ways of educating children that could be reflected in the design?
- In terms of architectural identity and despite the use of some colors in the facades, when looking at the building, it seems of an office building rather than an elementary school that welcomes and encourages children to spend time in it. It is important that the design would bring an interesting experience of daily life for the children, whether through the relation between the building blocks or in terms of details. Also, the entrance seems from the grey block, the use of canopy is not the best solution to define it.
- Despite having a playground on the roof, there seem to be a need of providing a playground on the ground level for break times. The outer space could be better designed by providing clear concepts of how each corner is designed to provide a certain experience for the children.
- The running tracks are well situated and a good choice within the school!
- Good Luck!
