I appreciate the group of Habiba Nabil for their thinking regarding those under privileged community of pulka.
Water is a major and basic need for human being and such projects can produce new thoughts & innovation to solve the scarcity of water. I have 2 observations towards this project.
1. First of all the settlement pattern and that wall infilled with plastic bottle is quite good and appreciable idea which seems affordable too.
2. The vertical tower structure for collecting water is a well known thought like" Warka water " project. This system is used in many parts of Africa. Generally it demands to be installed at height altitude to collect water droplets from air and fog. But here, since the structure of tower is aliened with the roof of those houses/shelters in that case it might be difficult to collect adequate water from fog and air. Also it is important to locate the tower in a considerable place for better wind flow which will triggers its water collection. Therefore the study needs more understanding regarding wind flow and its direction. It will work nicely to collect rain water but those observation might be needed for collecting water from fog and dew.
lastly i want to say that I m impressed within their effort and thinking. World needs more thinking like this to solve or make it easy for those people to survive in different condition.keep up the good works.
Thank You.
