In today's world, people with disabilities and the elderly people need to feel comfortable. Modern technologies and new professions make it possible to work at home, and the rapid development of medicine gives a chance to improve their health and lead to a normal full life of such people. Tourism for the elderly people is becoming accessible. Vacations for them should be safe, easy and more relaxed than for other age groups. Such people require professional care and special attention. In this sense, the tourist complex Miris Garden on the Adriatic coast of Croatia is very important. Its humanistic goal is to change the quality of life of the elderly people.
The project consists of the pier area with the terraces, where tram stops are located on the upper tier. Further downhill the project proposes the multi-level public garden, sports courts, and a pedestrian ramp bridge. The most important part of the composition is a recreational building It has a dynamic kinetic facade that reminds an exotic flower. The functional zoning of the territory has smooth rounded forms. The zones flow one after another from top to bottom, towards the sea coast. The elaborated biomorphic details of the general project and individual buildings alternate with the rigid geometry of the sport grounds and the garden. All this creates a balance of the whole composition. The design concept is based on the psychological task of improving the mental and physical well-being of elderly people.
The real advantage of the design is the unusual architecture of the central buildings (the restaurant, the cafe, the yoga studio), It has a futuristic form and is made with the innovative technologies. The project proposes different activities for the aged people (fishing, sports, nature observation).
An optimistic view of the new facets of tourism for the elderly allows us to mark the presented project as an excellent work of the author.
