The plan is locate the house on a plot at the centre of the village, which is a genious solution, it would be difficult to choose a better one. However, on site, the plans do not clearly show where the house is located within the plot. The plan envisages the house as a two-storey building, with functions on the lower level and car parking on the top. The site is steeply sloped, so it is easy to allow cars to park directly from the higher level onto this roof level. A plant trough runs along the perimeter of the roof, from which plants can run up onto iron grates. The new pedestrian axis in the middle of the building, parallel to the street is a good idea. Unfortunately, the pedestrian crossing here across the street does not follow this axis, but leads arriving pedestrians to the wall of the proposed building. The heating solution works. The graphic representation of the building is sophisticated. The parking solution on top of the building is questionable. If the intention was not to make the appearance of the building tall, why raise its apparent height with planting grids? The allocation of car spaces works, but its use too much space for the number of parking spaces. If cars are sunbathing on the roof, the spaces and services are moved to dark spaces. By putting cars underneath, the roof could be used for a café or restaurant terrace with a good view, and vegetation could grow from more than a small trough. Another functional design feature is that the roof, which is set back over the entrance axis, does not protect the people entering the restaurant on the ground floor. Of course, the street-facing restaurant could still remain in its well-chosen location. The formal appearance of the building is absolutely contemporary, but there is no local connection with the building traditions of the municipality. The building is out of place, we do not know where its style is, it could be anywhere in the world. We see a design of high quality, congratulations to the designer.
Dear Csanády Gábor Mátyás, thank you for your feedback. It´s gonna help me a lot in my future projects.
