Establishing a science center in Lefkosa, the capital of Northern Cyprus. The idea is inspired by the river and how water is collected during the day, and then… more
Design:
Making use of site context to develop the design concept is commendable and very well thought. Form wise, the design could have been more explored, considering water the design doesn’t showcase easy fluidity. Also, requirements of an science center should have been explored and used for shaping the design.
Design Communication:
The description lacked clarity in terms of requirements of science center architecturally which reflected in design. Core concept or star of the design seemed to be missing. While stating spaces, using direction helps a lot (e.g. ‘The building allows entrance from the north side, taking to space A at east and space B at west). Improvement in language and clarity in important aspects to be explained in the design can help in better communication.
Presentation:
Fantastic night and day views. Very well and enough detailed. Colour selections, material portray and composition represented beautifully.
