Dear Yingkai,
The STAY CONNECTED project deals with the connection between the residential area and the university campus in a very interesting way. I appreciate the design and location of this innovative center precisely between this border of two different territories where different innovations can take place. These site boundaries are the most suitable for these kinds of projects.
I also highly appreciate the volume solution of the entire ensemble in relation to the surrounding buildings on neighboring plots. This small scale of the individual buildings creates a pleasant environment inside the ensemble. The central space of the project becomes the square, which is located in the central part and thus divides the project into two functional zones. What I like most about the project are the winding paths that lead to the main square and thus shape the shapes of the surrounding houses. The dynamics of these paths is also depicted on the surface of the sidewalks, which lead the visitor directly to the center of the square. I also appreciate the used material solutions for the facades of individual houses, which help create a pleasant environment in public spaces.
The graphic processing of the project is at a high level, as is its very clear presentation within the posters. I have no comment on the project, as the project is well-crafted both in terms of layout and the entire urban planning solution. I wish Yingkai Lian the best of luck in future projects.
Best regards,
Erik Petrus.
