Architecture
Vernacular architecture holds a unique and captivating beauty that emerges from its deep connection to local cultures, landscapes, and traditions. Dinajpur… more
We are honored to see the work presented by the architect. Tanbir Hasan from Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology
Form follows function for the functional school
1) In terms of planning:
_ How was the intervention strategy studied when planning the educational project so that the complex would not be an intrusion into the rural community and constitute disharmony among residents in the area? This should be illustrated with a strategic intervention plan that shows the appropriate opportunity to intervene on the ground
_Is the project at the region level only or at the regional level?
In my opinion, such projects are beneficial on a broad level, so a broad plan could be included at the level of the region studied
How is the region connected by road to neighboring areas?
_Is it a direct or indirect relationship with the neighbourhood?
You have identified the target group for the project, but what is the carrying capacity of the project?
Does the space support the educational section and the industrial section? Or should the area used for land use be increased?
It is preferable to have a sufficient number of parking spaces for trucks and large vehicles for heavy items and loads
The intermingling of green areas with the site, the presence of water bodies, and the use of local building materials gave the project a distinctly rural character.
Strengthening popular participation contributes to positive interaction among the local population, but diversity and homogeneity between cultural levels must be studied so that this does not create differences between the project’s target groups.
You studied a detailed teaching program, but more safety standards must be established for students, such as the presence of a health unit at least in necessary cases I recommend isolating students and giving the place privacy while teaching Considering that there is an area of land, the nurseries can be placed a little far from the parking lot in order to protect them from chimney emissions and so that car dust does not form on them.
2)In terms of design:
_Can the project withstand high temperatures?
_You have chosen a suitable location for wood processing, but it is preferable to have a storage place to keep the wood and protect it from exposure to the burning sun, which may affect the physical properties of building materials, leading to a reduction in the effectiveness of their performance. Buildings must also be provided with a fire safety factor.
_Brick making must have some peculiarity An adequate distance must be studied between the place of manufacture and processing of cane and structural elements and between the residences designated for students and researchers Providing the place with sunshades at the main traffic axes to provide shade in high temperature conditions Avoid excessive stereotyping when using windows I linked the educational section with the vocational section The angle of connection of the reeds with the concrete base should not be too sharp and the load-bearing concrete base can be at ground level Rambat should be studied The ceiling height must also be appropriate
Conclusion :
A wonderful attempt to create a distinctive level of performance, and this truly makes the project distinctive in terms of the benefit it will bring to society While avoiding some observations, we can expect a very strong presence in the advanced stages of the competition My advice to you is do not hesitate to search for information and ask specialists when necessary
All the best wishes
