Architecture
At the age of 52 years, Bangladesh entered into an era of unprecedented globalization and late-stage capitalism. Modern societies thrive when architecture and… more
We are pleased to see the work submitted by the architect Nuzhat Shama from Bangladesh Which aims to link social and spatial needs through an explicit and clear cluster formation Urban examples similar to the project idea were studied The composition and the city were linked in a successful way Some recommendations suggested by the INSPIRELI team:
In terms of planning:
The project location was chosen in an urban area rich in important sites. This is logical considering that the project is large at the city level However, in this case, we will notice massive congestion in population centers in the area, with the possibility of traffic congestion
The project's road connectivity with the various elements of the city has been achieved, but the project spans a large area. Will the capacity of the surrounding main streets be sufficient to serve the entire project?
- It should be noted that there is a central square that can be considered as an outlet for the project
- Considering that the project is a gateway to connect the residential and commercial sections of the city, a safe movement path for local residents must be studied in light of the crowding that the city is witnessing, which will increase with the presence of the center in the future. In terms of design:
- The simple composition was manipulated in a distinctive way and created a visual interface that is in harmony with the urban environment in the region
Clear axes of movement This is indeed positive, but the nodes resulting from the intersection of the main axes of movement in the project can be expanded to form more than just a link. It is preferable to avoid monotony and stereotyping when studying the southern façade, and if it is necessary to use partitions, they should be used according to the local character of building materials.
The atrium clearly achieves a connection with the city, but it connects radially with it, but instead of seeing the composition it is separated into parts. These parts can be connected through bridges or pedestrian walkways on the third upper floors and above.
The project is very attractive and gives great importance to the city in the future and will affect housing in the region By paying attention to some of the mentioned points, a strong appearance of the project can be found in the final stages of the competition
