Dear Aymen Ouerhani,
I commend you on your submission, "BIBLIOTHÉQUE BAB LASSAL," showcasing a thoughtful and innovative design for a library in Bab Laasaal. Your analysis of the site's context and the incorporation of two different urban grids are commendable, demonstrating a keen understanding of the surrounding environment.
Strengths:
1. Contextual Sensitivity: Your recognition of the irregular grid of the medina and the regular grid of Franceville, coupled with the low density of vegetation, reflects a deep understanding of the site's context. Creating a ramp around the central cube to enhance the architectural promenade is a thoughtful response to the environment.
2. Integration of Reading Spaces: The seamless integration of reading spaces on each floor, complemented by open shelving lines and closed-glazed shelving for exhibitions, reflects a well-considered approach to library design. This approach enhances accessibility to reading materials while creating a visually engaging experience.
3. Promotion of Socio-Cultural Interaction: The connection of ramps with interior spaces to foster socio-cultural interaction is a commendable aspect of your design philosophy. The aim to create a link between the interior and exterior aligns with the public and cultural nature of the project.
Constructive Suggestions:
1. Further Detail on Sustainable Practices: While you mention modern construction methods and materials such as aluminum framing, providing additional details on sustainable practices or green technologies would enhance the project's overall sustainability profile.
2. Spatial Programming Clarity: The description of the auditorium and versatile space with a cafeteria acting as the intersection is intriguing. However, providing more clarity on the specific functions, capacities, and their relationship to the overall spatial programming would strengthen the understanding of your design.
3. Visual Communication: Consider incorporating visual aids, such as diagrams or renderings, to enhance the presentation and better communicate the spatial experience. Floor Plans can help the jury and stakeholders grasp the design intent more effectively.
In conclusion, your project exhibits solid conceptual foundations, contextual awareness, and a commitment to fostering cultural interaction. I encourage you to provide more detailed insights into sustainable practices, enhance the clarity of spatial programming, and consider visual aids for a more impactful presentation.
Dear Hamidreza Khademi,
Thank you very much. I am immensely honored by your opinion, and it brings me great pleasure. I would like to express my gratitude for your understanding of my project and its design concept, as well as the time you have dedicated to advising me. Your words have made me happy. Regarding the sustainability aspect of the project, I have a deep understanding of sustainability. However, for this particular project, which is a response to an exercise in my studies, I approached it with the mindset of a winner, incorporating a complex architectural response. Nevertheless, I have given significant thought to the user and their experience when visiting the project. For me, the architectural journey of the user and the spatial quality of the project are of utmost importance. Additionally, I am keen on integrating sustainable elements and ensuring your pride in this future design. Regarding the plans, I did not share them out of curiosity; rather, I wanted people to see the design and question how it functions. Stimulating curiosity, whether from project visitors or online viewers, is important to me. I will be posting another photo of the project soon. Once again, thank you very much. I am honored to have your support.
