Good day, Hoda Matar,
Firstly, thank you for the fascinating project. I appreciate the effort you put into presenting it so well. I particularly enjoyed your exploration of Utopia and Dystopia, effectively showing them as two sides of the same coin. Your connection to societal frustrations is also compelling.
The deconstructivist form of your museum is impressive and seems to aim for a Guggenheim effect, similar to Bilbao, as a catalyst for development. This approach is admirable. I recommend studying Frank Gehry's work in Bilbao to see which practices and principles you might incorporate further into your career.
Regarding your presentation style, the prominent red element draws the eye, but it can be disappointing if it doesn’t highlight significant aspects of the project. I suggest using color more strategically to emphasize important design elements rather than as mere decoration.
When organizing your spaces, consider that the furniture layout significantly impacts the functionality and experience within the space. Given the geometric complexity of your building, pay close attention to space utilization, the thresholds between areas, the distinction between served and service spaces, and the design of intimate spaces such as restrooms and staff offices. These details are crucial to the project's success.
Finally, remember that a museum should curate experiences for its visitors. Think about the emotions and reactions you want to evoke in your users.
Overall, I really enjoyed your project. Thank you for the excellent submission.
Dear Khulukani Bila,
Thank you for your thoughtful feedback on my project. I'm glad you enjoyed my exploration of Utopia and Dystopia and found the connection to societal frustrations compelling.
I appreciate your advice on studying Frank Gehry's work in Bilbao. I will certainly look into it for inspiration. Your suggestions on color use and space organization are very helpful, and I will consider them carefully in my future designs.
Thank you again for your kind words and valuable insights.
Best regards,
Hoda Matar
