The starting point of the project is uplifting, to commemorate the nameless victims, and I think there is nothing wrong with the design process of the monument, but the expression could perhaps be a little more emotional, especially as an emotional structure, the notebook style may not be able to convey the emotional connection of war, reflection, grief in the first place. The treatment of the landscape is very good, but as an overall design you have to consider its response to the monument.
I suggest more use of the concept of hollow to combine light and shadow to create such a mood, as well as combine the site's forest environment features, for example, from a visual perspective.
