The Underpass Greens project offers an innovative approach to revitalizing neglected urban spaces by integrating hydroponic greenhouses under bridges. This concept not only addresses space limitations but also promotes sustainability and community engagement through self-sufficiency, such as generating income from hydroponic produce and running a café.
The idea of using nature to counterbalance the rigid infrastructure of bridges is compelling, providing a contrast that can enhance the mental well-being of residents. However, more detail is needed on the spatial experience within these green spaces—specifically how people will move through and interact with them. Clearer insights into circulation, seating, and user engagement would strengthen the concept.
Additionally, more attention to planting details, such as plant selection and layout, would enhance both the aesthetic and ecological value of the space. With these refinements, Underpass Greens could become a model for transforming urban infrastructure into vibrant, sustainable community hubs.
