In the following text, we discuss our stance on the building and its existing state. Initially, we walked a distance before we saw the actual building. Upon arrival, we were impressed by the dimensions and the decay of the individual structures, except for the German Building. Here, the roof was renewed and the facade was also necessarily renovated.

Since the remaining buildings have stayed unchanged, they displayed many flaws that created an impressive atmosphere, which we perceive as a quality. We take advantage of this quality with our concept of digitalization through MR (Mixed Reality).

Therefore, we want to leave certain parts of the buildings as they are and enliven them with a digital exhibition. In the other buildings, we aim to design strong architectural gestures that will lead to a new/old contrast. The Ringplatz is of great importance, and we recognize the necessity and quality of revitalizing it by enhancing its value by greening.

Overall, we are impressed by the existing state through its natural decay and spatial qualities, which we intend to conceptually utilize for a renovation.

In our Project we focus on two important Topics, new(architecture) and old (mixed reality). We have Buildings and Zones that we leave like they are so that the Visitors get the same impression we got when we first saw the Schindler Place. In those Zones we use a digital exhibition which you can find in our QR Codes. The other parts of the Buildings we create new spaces with Architecture which enlighten the contrast of new and old.

In the Parts of the Mixed Reality (MR) we leave the Architecture the Decay and want as long as there is Security to leave those Parts like they are. Therefore the Construction is in decay, the other parts are reconstructed and all the Windows and Walls are repaired. All in all you see the big Difference in the Construction, because of the Parts that are left for the Decay and the Parts that are repaired and new.
