Work description

Research Group: Iron Biologyhttps://www.sharjah.ac.ae/en/Research/RIMHSWork in my lab focus on the host - pathogen interactions related to the fungal secretion effects on macrophages. In particular, we investigate the effects of secretions from sensitive and resistant strains of Candida auris on the peripheral blood derived macrophages. We investigate the effects of fungal secretions and its components on different functions and immuno-physiology of macrophages. Also, as macrophages are important component that regulates iron during health and disease, this project is investigating the changes in iron metabolism and proteins regulating iron metabolism in macrophages in response to C. auris secretions. Intern will be involved in a research group team work to address the aims of this research.
