Work description
4traffic is a spinoff of the RWTH Aachen University that received the digitalPIONEER 2021 award from the digitalHUB Aachen e.V. and the AGIT mbH. We specialize in the field of real-time collection of smart city data. Relevant applications are the traffic flow detection, pedestrian flow detection and the collection of environmental data. The modular design of our detector box enables the detection and transmission of a wide range smart city data. And that is exactly where we need you!Within the scope of your thesis, we want to include you to the further development and optimization our the detector box. Other than the insights into our daily adventure, you get to do applied research, develop and create your own PCB.We offer1. a young and interdisciplinary team2. Fully eqiupped workshop for prototyping, incl. 3D-Printers and state of the art soldering stations3. Startup atmosphere4. flexible work structure5. practical mentoring and thesis supervision6. Contribution to the latest and innovative smart city technologyYour task will be the design and development of an optimized prototype of printed circuit board or PCB that enables the simultanous integration of various smart city sensors. 1. drafting of a technical specification sheet2. designing the PCB-layout with common PCB design software3. definition of components (bill of materials, BoM)4. development of an operational prototype5. documentation of resultsAbout us:Our team has flexible working hours and is also able to offer home office options. The student intern will need an own device (laptop). We enjoy to meetup and work in the digitalCHURCH in Aachen or in our workshop-office in Ottostraße that we share with other startups, such as Autak, Cynteract and RefresherBoxx from different fields. For example, RefresherBoxx is developing a washing machine that works without any water and chemicals to stop resource wastage, Cynteract a glove for motivating and decentralized rehabilitation and Autak a stair-climbing wheelchair. This allows a very interactive and innovative atmosphere in which we exchange knowledge, experience and innovative ideas. The team and working area is interdisciplinary, international and divers. We do not care about what religion our student intern believes in or wheather he doesn´t believe at all. Our team has members that can speak English, German, Turkish, Russian or Polish. We are excited to welcome our newest member.
