Work description
Are you a student studying Computer Science, engineering, technology, pedagogy or psychology with a genuine curiosity of what learning is? Do you have a passion for using technology to enhance education and want to work on a project that has a meaningful impact on hundreds of students? The Department of Informatics at University of Oslo is excited to offer a summer internship opportunity that can help you achieve your goals. In this internship, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse team of Norwegian and international students with a technology background. The project we are working on builds upon a successful gamification project from last year, where we developed an interactive and engaging alternative route for an introductory computer science course, with the aim of increasing overall student engagement and learning. The project involved a narrative-based course structure where students' progress was dependent on their ability to solve tasks embedded in the story. Students could choose to form their own groups or be assigned one, providing opportunities for more discussions and engagement when tackling tasks. The final exam was also restructured to be a final level of the narrative, ensuring that it is in line with the rest of the project. Throughout the course, students also had opportunities to gain bonus tasks that they could use as lifelines" during the final level. As a result
