Work description
Aurobay have an established framework to model the complete engine thermal energy balance and the components temperature field. The modelling process as described in the article is complete, while the model for our current engine is not yet complete with all relevant components. Recently new key measurement data has become available. The task at hand now is to implement the complete modeling framework for our latest state-of-the-art engine. Further, a thorough integration between all our modeling and measurements processes is to be implemented, including automatized cross-comparison and postprocess. These include Measurements: rig engine energy balance and local temperature, complete vehicle thermal verification. 3D modeling: complete engine CFD-CHT two-way coupled with in-cylinder combustion CFD model and exhaust gas (including turbine) model. 1D: Gas-exchange model, friction model, cooling system model and engine thermal model.Contact: Mirko BOVO
